- Prying bar designed for easier work
- Longer bar provides extra reach and more leverage for prying and lifting
- Tight bend angle for precise positioning
- Arched center for greater prying leverage
- 16 inches in length; 1-3/4 inches in width
The Stanley Super Wonder Bar Pry Bar is designed for easier prying, lifting, and nail removal. At 15-1/2 inches in length, it provides extra reach and more leverage, and its tight bend angle allows more precise positioning. The pry bar features an arch in its center, eliminating the need for a wood block to achieve necessary swinging motion for nail pulling. This pry bar also works as a panel lift: simply position the pry end under the panel and press down the end with a foot for convenient, hands-free operation. The bar's blade width is 1-3/4 inches.

I added this to my tool kit just before starting a basement remodel, on a friends recomendation. This, in combination with Stanley 55-099 FatMax Xtreme Fubar Functional Utility Bar, helped to improve my demo time.
However the bends on this pry bar lead me to caution you. Do not hit this with extreme force the bends act as a spring and can cause the bar to retaliate.
Case in point, one of my larger friends wanted to use the bar to remove the concrete nails that where holding down a wall he wanted to move. Figuring "might makes right", he stuffed the bar under the floor plate and commenced hitting it with a 3lb sledge.
After a few hits he did not strike the bar "just right" so it sprung back out and hit him in the face. Twice. First with the flat end then with the hook end as it was rotating so fast as it ejected itself from the floor plate.
Luckily for him it only scratched him (as there is no more important safety rule than to ware these, safety glasses) but next time he will just grind the nails out. |
| Pry Bar with a "Twist" | 2009-07-17 | 4 / 5 |

I am a small woman with a longtime LOVE of good tools. This bar allows me to make the best possible use of my available weight and strength to remove stubborn nails and to pry stubborn boards apart. Leverage is your friend!
In a perfect world, I would have reversed 1/2 of this tool. Notice, the bump to add leverage becomes impeded by the downward curve of the opposite pry bar. The notched "v" is angled to make the most of the "bump" and to have it limited becomes an irritation when nails refuse to budge. This is especially true while working in limited spaces.
Still, this wonder bar is an improvement over my old faithful pry bar for many situations and my trusty tool bucket will continue to have a special place just for it. Love the yellow end- sure makes it easier to find! |

| Curves in all the right places! | 2007-12-23 | 4 / 5 |

This pry bar is a good shape for, well, prying! The curve pushes the bar out far enough to get some leverage. I like the bright yellow tip that helps keep it from getting lost in darker environments.
I haven't found mine to be especially sharp. It is intended for smaller jobs, and works well for those. It isn't a problem unless you are demolishing a house with it. Just something to be aware of. |
