I should have gone to Home Depot and purchased metal shelves. This is made of cheap aluminum and it looks cheap, too. I put it up next the the metal shelves I purchased from Home Deport, and they are much better than this one. This one looks like it may fall apart by bumping into it.

These shelves are terrible. I've seen aluminum house siding that is stronger than this "steel". This stuff would bend if you looked at it too long. And,as reported by another reviewer here, it's almost impossible to keep from getting cut. I put a gash in my hand and another in my foot (and I'm no stranger to using tools, following instructions and putting things together). Do not buy these shelves. You will be very sorry.

I am a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Auburn Tigers. Therefore, you can trust me when I say that these 5-tier storage units are great for storing heavy objects. I use them to store the many game programs and yearbooks I have accrued over the years, many of which are from the aforementioned trio of excellent teams. So do what I, "The Ol' Dirty Moose" did: buy some Organize-It Metal 5-Tier Storage Units today! You'll be glad you did! God Bless the USA!!!

for the price it is ok especially for items that aren't too heavy. readable directions, good illustrations.. but I have smaller metL shelves with side and back braces.. This could use that extra feature. I improvised and the shelving will do. If you cut yourself then you didn't read the instructions.. the photo and title shows a grey finish.. mine was chrome. but it is in a basement corner so that is ok..
| Seems a bit flimzy. | 2007-04-14 | 4 / 5 |

This item is acually rated for 900 total pounds, but it seems a little flimzy to me. I already had one shelving unit that I bought from a local store that is much beefier, but was not much more expensive. I loaded this unit up with items in my garage and it is holding, but I don't fully trust it. The side supports are a little too thin and it is just a bit wobbly. I am going to anchor it to the wall, but I really shouldn't have to do that. Also, the edges are very sharp. I would recommend wearing gloves while assembling. The instruction sheet did warn of this, but really.....how many people actually read the instructions.
