The Hercules Hook is the easiest way to hang pictures, mirrors, shelves just about anything. Easy to install just twist, push and turn! No more drilling or pounding to try to find a stud - No more damaged walls! The reinforced steel design provides the muscle to hang and hold up to 150 lbs. Great for plaster, drywall or paneling. Twist, Push, Turn. Pick a point on the wall where you want the bottom of the hook to sit. Then, measure ΒΌ" directly above that point and set the tip there.Next, with firm forward pressure, twist the hook back and forth (like a key) until you have chiseled through the wall. Now turn the hook upward and push completely into the wall until only the hook is exposed.

Struggled with hanging hooks, and finding studs (in all the wrong places), and punching various holes in various walls for many years. Found these, and was very impressed. It's a very cheap option to try if you are at all unsure, and even if they don't work in all applications, chances are, if you are in the market for "quick fix" wall hangings they won't disappoint. The hole they leave behind is indeed small enough to fix easily if you move your hangings etc. Caveats include needing pliers if your hanging sticks out further than you would like since the hooks do stick out a bit, and also be aware of items not fixed securely - i.e. they are hooks, so your items "hang". I have a laundry rod (clothes hanger) being held up by these hooks, and it's got a little wiggle. It doesn't bother me, and I am not worried that it's going to fall down, but it might bother some people since it's not as tight against the wall as traditional anchors.

Sorry to throw water on someone's parade. I can understand why people would love these BUT I bought a house built in 1925 and they do NOT work. There are so many studs in the walls so close together (maybe due to plaster) that there is no hope of rotating them if you are fortunate enough to get them inserted. I tried several in different locations to no avail. The OOK work wonderfully. I am reordering them.
| Quite simply...it works. | 2010-08-02 | 5 / 5 |

Simple and effective way to hang items. I have only used it for a couple decorative items, but it worked flawlessly.

Love these hooks. These have changed everything. They are the perfect hanger. They simply poke into the wall and remove leaving the smallest nail size hole. I know it sounds stupid but I love these things! They seem a bit expensive but are worth it. They make my life easier and that is surely worth the cost. It is hard to get excited over a hook in the wall but these things are amazing. So simple yet so perfect for the job they do. I hang a lot of pictures and have always been annoyed at the options.
